THE MOST DREAMLIKE PLACE EVER
Series of photographs
Late at night, on the way home, I stared towards the dark side between buildings that the street lights did not reach.

The Spaces : Mothers of Korea, 2013
“What your stuff says about you; reveals how intensely connected we are to the places in which we live and work.” Psychologist Sam Gosling said in his book. My work also embraces the same point of view.
A backpack thrown on the sofa by a son, an old smiling dog, and a rice field at dawn implies that everyone has a story. Figures in my work progress from being female to become a wife or mother. I tried to find their true identity in relation to their individual locations behind the names they were given.
This project was selected and won a prize, “A Picture of the Month,” from the Monthly Photo Art Magazine in November 2016.
Documentary photography in Gwanghwamun
I was a teenager when I took this photograph, and it shows my earliest interest in people and Korean society. Gwanghwamun has become my favorite place in Seoul over time because it is always full of people who are protesting, speaking out, and letting their thoughts be known.
I was on my way to school, but as I passed through Gwanghwamun, I noticed a large crowd. I wasn't sure what was going on at first, but I soon realized that all of these mourners had gathered for the former president's funeral. I got off the bus and took a photo of the massive crowd waving goodbye.
